Feral Cats
What is a feral cat?

Feral cats are the wild off spring of domestic cats.  They primarily come from pet owners abandonment or failure to neuter or spay their cats.  Feral cats are elusive and do not trust humans.

A breeding pair of cats can have two or more litters per year.  They and their off spring can produce 420,000 cats over a seven year period!  Studies have proven that trap-neuter-release is the single most successful method of stabilizing and maintaining healthy feral cat colonies, with the least possible cost to local governments and residents, while providing the best life for the animals.

PleaseSaveACat  feral cat colonies are managed by a 'trap-neuter-release' program.  Feral cats, especially in rural areas, control rodents, and diminish disease.  The caretakers of these colonies see to it these cats have sufficient food to maintain their health and stamina to live outside.

There is a national awareness of feral cats and their caretakers.  AlleyCatAllies.org is a group dedicated to advocating nonlethal methods to reduce outdoor cat populations.  For more information, please click on AlleyCatAllies.org
